N. Erasmus, D. Cunnama, S. Potter (all South African Astronomical Observatory) report/s a classification of object: SN 2025xmp
Type: SN IaRedshift: 0.02332
Remarks: Spectral template matching using SNID SAGE shows a good match with a Type Ia supernova.The reported redshift is derived from published values of the likely host galaxy. The SNID SAGE fit also estimated a similar redshift.

Remarks: The spectrum was taken with the SAAO's 1-m Lesedi robotic telescope with the Mookodi low-resolution spectrograph and imager as part of the SAAO’s "Intelligent Observatory" rapid follow-up program. The spectrum was taken with the widest (4") slit width which resulted in a spectral resolution of R ~ 200 at 6000 Angstrom.
