Jacob Wise (LJMU), Daniel Perley (LJMU), K-Ryan Hinds (Caltech), Zoe McGrath (LJMU) report/s a classification of object: SN 2025yej
Type: SN IaRedshift: 0.073
Remarks: Spectrum appears to display Si II absorption, and Fe II features in the blue, characteristic of a SN Ia. Its rise time of ~15 days and peak absolute magnitude of M ~ -19 is consistent with this classification. Redshift measured using host galaxy Na D absorption. Host galaxy contamination is heavy, so we encourage further follow-up to confirm this classification.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2025-10-07 23:00:55
