Joseph Farah (UCSB/LCO), Moira Andrews, Kathryn Wynn, D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Jake Ridenbaugh report/s a classification of object: SN 2026chx
Type: SN IIRedshift: 0.02134
Remarks: We report the classification of SN 2026chx as SN II. The spectrum shows a best match to SN II at approximately 3 days after peak light both based on the presence of a broad H-alpha line, and using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024). SNID finds a best-fit redshift of z~0.021, which is consistent with the apparent associated host LEDA 2429296 (simbad:coo=171.9810d53.0022d,rad=2 arcmin) at z~0.02134. Additional follow-up is encouraged.
