Date Received (UTC): 2026-02-17 23:59:14 Sender: Kathryn Wynn
Group: Global SN Project
Kathryn Wynn (UCSB/LCO), Moira Andrews, Joseph Farah, D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully report/s a classification of object: SN 2026dez
Type: SN IaRedshift: 0.012
Remarks: We report the classification of SN 2026dez as SN Ia. The spectrum shows a best match to SN Ia before peak from SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024). The object is offset from the host galaxy, so the object redshift is found from the SNID best fit of 0.012. Additional follow-up is encouraged.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2026-02-17 17:35:38
Instrument: FLOYDS-S
