Orapeleng Mogawana report/s a classification of object: SN 2026idh
Type: SN IcRedshift: 0.007178
Remarks: Based on the NGSF spectral classification software (https://github.com/oyaron/NGSF) and spectral template matching using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), the most likely classification is type Ic SN a few days before maximum. Another good-matching fraction is that of SN Ic-BL, however, follow-up observations are encouraged. The redshift is adopted from the candidate host galaxy ESO 126-G 010 in NED.
