Sender: William Keel
Reporting Group: None Discovery Data Source: None
William Keel, Judy Schmidt, Julianne Dalcanton report/s the discovery of a new astronomical transient.
IAU Designation: AT 1992bv
Coordinates (J2000): RA = 03:15:05.472 (48.7728) DEC = -54:49:16.40 (-54.821222)
Discovery date: 1992-11-19 05:45:36.000 (JD=2448945.74)
Potential host galaxy: IC 1908
Host redshift: 0.0275
Remarks: Found by J. Schmidt on comparison of 1992 CTIO images with HST ACS image taken 2019-09-21 under program 15446 (Arp galaxy gap-filler, PI J. Dalcanton).
Photometry
Discovery (first detection):
Discovery date: 1992-11-19 05:45:36.000
Flux: 16.8 VegaMag
Filter: B-Johnson
Instrument: LORAL
Telescope: CTIO - 1.5-Meter Telescope (SMARTS Consortium)
Remarks: Zero point from one Graham E-region standard star and assumed CTIO mean extinction values.
Last non-detection:
Archival info: DSS
Remarks: Source did not appear on ESO R survey film copies (field 155). SRC(J) film of this field saturates this part of the interacting host system.
