Type: SN IIb
Redshift: 0.009

Remarks: Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 119) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find a good fit to the Type IIb SN 1997dd at maximum light at the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.009; Mathewson, Ford, & Buchhorn 1992, ApJS, 81, 413, via NED). The helium lines at 588 and 707 nm are clearly observed, with P Cygni minima corresponding to a velocity of ~7000 km/s. The helium line at 668 nm may also be present at the same velocity but blended with narrow H-alpha emission from the host.
