Spectral Classification
Classification with the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) indicates it is a young type-IIP event. The best match is found with SN 2005cs around 10 days after explosion. The expansion velocity of the ejecta, estimated using the P-Cygni profile of H_alpha is ~7000 km/sec.

Confirmation report
Toshihide Noguchi, Katori, Chiba, Japan, confirms the object on images (limiting mag about 18.5) taken on Jan. 4.772 UT (mag about 15.9) with a 0.23-m f/6.3 Schmidt Cassegrain + unfiltered CCD(FLI ML0261E). Position end figures are: 05s.32, 15".0. Position and magnitude was measured using UCAC4.
