598 2016-12-02 18:04:51 Jose Prieto P. Berlind, E. Falco (Harvard CfA), J. L. Prieto (UDP/MAS) ASAS-SN SN Ia 1 ASAS-SN An optical spectrum obtained on UT 2016 Nov. 30.5 with FAST mounted on the FLWO 1.5m telescope shows that ASASSN-16np/AT2016inu is a normal Type Ia after peak. We cross-correlated the spectrum with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) and the spectrum of ASASSN-16np is most consistent with the normal Type Ia SN2005na at +16 days after maximum light. 2016TNSCR.987....1B
