Discovery date: 2017-12-13 21:18:00.000 (JD=2458101.3875)

Potential host galaxy: NGC 841

Remarks: Roberto De Lorenzo reports the discovery of a possible supernova (mag about 17.0 V, unfiltered). The PSN is visible on several images (limiting magnitude about 18.2) taken at 2017 12 13.88 UT from MPC K82. The new object is located at A.R. = 02h 11m 15.36s, Decl. = +37° 29’ 48.3” (equinox 2000.0, astrometry with respect to UCAC-4 catalogue) which is 24 arcsec west and 2 arcsec south of the center of Galaxy NGC 841. Checked Minor Planet Center for asteroids and VSX for variable stars.
