Michael A. Tucker, Dominick M. Rowan, Benjamin J. Shappee (IfA, UH Manoa), Subo Dong, Subhash Bose (KIAA, PKU) report/s a classification of object: SN 2018bpd
Type: SN IaRedshift: 0.037
Remarks: As part of the Spectral Classification of Astronomical Transients (SCAT) survey, we obtained a spectrum of SN2018bpd on MJD 58281.404 using the SuperNova Integral Field Spectrograph (SNIFS) on the University of Hawaii 88-inch (UH88) telescope. The spectrum, covering 330-970nm, was cross-correlated with a library of supernovae spectra (SNID, Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024B) and had several good matches with normal Type Ia supernovae with a phase of 13+/-1 days past max.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2018-06-11 21:41:45
Instrument: SNIFS
Telescope: UH 88inch
Remarks: Reduced using an automated reduction pipeline, intended for classification and quick-look purposes. Care should be taken before re-using the spectrum for further analysis.
Details of the object and its spectra can be viewed here: https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2018bpd
