Date Received (UTC): 2018-12-04 05:11:26 Sender: Mr. Michael Tucker
Group: SCAT
M A Tucker, A V Payne, A Do, M E Huber, B J Shappee (IfA UH Manoa), K Stanek (OSU), and the ASAS-SN team report/s a classification of object: SN 2018jfp
Type: SN IIRedshift: 0.023
Remarks: UH88/SNIFS spectrum, showing a relatively blue featureless continuum with broad H and He emission at the host redshift (NED). Recent ASAS-SN photometry puts the object at an absolute magnitude of M ~ -17.5, consistent with a Type II SN.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2018-12-03 12:03:44
Instrument: SNIFS
Telescope: UH 88inch
Remarks: Reduced with a summit quick-reduction pipeline.
