Date Received (UTC): 2019-07-19 08:20:22 Sender: Dr. Simon Prentice
Group: TCD
S. J. Prentice, K. Maguire, K. Skillen, M. R. Magee (TCD), P. Clark (QUB) report/s a classification of object: SN 2019leu
Type: SN IIRedshift: 0.016
Remarks: After accounting for a Galactic reddening of ~ 0.2 mag the spectrum is blue with a broad bump at the position of H alpha at a redshift of z = 0.016. This is consistent with the underlying galaxy and suggesting that this is not a Galactic transient but a type II SN.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2019-07-18 23:40:25
Instrument: SPRAT
Telescope: Liverpool Telescope
Details of the object and its spectra can be viewed here: https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2019leu
