5419 2019-11-01 23:10:17 Jamison Burke Jamison Burke, Daichi Hiramatsu, D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Craig Pellegrino Global SN Project SN II 0.010424 1 Global SN Project Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find best fits to SNe II at early phases. There are good fits to SN 1987A at extremely early phases and also to SN 1996cb (SN IIb) more than two weeks before maximum. The supernova is closest to UGC 11860 (z = 0.010424, 1998A&AS..130..333T; value from NED). This redshift is well-matched by narrow host hydrogen and O II emission lines. Assuming this redshift, we measure a hydrogen velocity of about 17,000 km/s from the Hα absorption and a similar He velocity from He 5876. The B-band absolute magnitude roughly coeval with the spectrum is approximately -15.1 (apparent magnitude 18.2). The absolute magnitude, high velocities, and blue continuum indicate that the SN is young. Further followup is encouraged. 2019TNSCR2244....1B
