Gal-Yam (Weizmann) adH0cc SN II 0.166 1 adH0cc The adH0cc programme for an "accurate determination of H0 with core-collapse supernovae" reports the classification of the optical transient SN 2020bcv. The target was supplied by the Pan-STARRS Survey for Transients (Chambers et al. 2016, 2016arXiv161205560C). The observations were performed on the night of 2020 January 27 with the ESO Very Large Telescope UT1, equipped with the FORS2 spectrograph and grism 300V, covering a wavelength range from 3400 to 9600A at a resolution of 10A. The spectrum shows a blue continuum with prominent P-Cygni lines of hydrogen and helium superimposed. HII-region emission lines from the host galaxy yield a redshift of 0.166. The spectroscopic appearance and a Pan-STARRS non-detection on MJD 58867.5 point at a phase about 7 to 10d after explosion. 2020TNSCR.303....1H
