6915 2020-06-18 02:06:23 Jamison Burke Jamison Burke, D. Andrew Howell, Daichi Hiramatsu, Curtis McCully, Estefania Padilla Gonzalez, Craig Pellegrino Global SN Project SN II 0.058809 1 Global SN Project The featureless blue continuum of this object suggests a young Type II SN. The one day non-detection by ATLAS further indicates that the object is young. We note that the nearest galaxy with a known redshift is 2MASX J15475658+4440532 (z = 0.058809; 2004SDSS3.C...0000, value from NED). Adopting the distance modulus inferred from this redshift, the B-band absolute magnitude roughly coeval with this spectrum is -17.9 (apparent magnitude 19.1). The SN is offset by approximately 109” from this potential host, corresponding to a distance of 129 kpc. Such a large host offset is unusual for the massive progenitors of SNe II. Further followup is encouraged, as is refining this classification if needed. 2020TNSCR1846....1B
