Kotak (Turku), R. Bruch, A. Gal-Yam (Weizmann), C. Lemon (Lausanne) report/s a classification of object: SN 2020ver

Type: SN Ia
Redshift: 0.0906

Remarks: An optical spectrum of SN 2020ver, obtained on 2020 October 13 with the ESO Very Large Telescope UT1, the FORS2 spectrograph, and grism 300V, shows it to be a Type Ia supernova. The spectrum is similar to those of normal Type Ia supernovae about a week before B-band maximum. GELATO found good matches with spectra of SN 2003kf at the epochs of -6 and -7 days. The redshift was determined based on the wavelengths of narrow emission lines of the host galaxy.

The following Classification spectrum was provided:

Obsdate: 2020-10-14 01:35:49
Instrument: FORS2
Telescope: The Very Large Telescope - UT1

Remarks: Quick-reduction spectrum.
