James DerKacy (Oklahoma), on behalf of POISE report/s a classification of object: SN 2021bxu
Type: SN IIbRedshift: 0.0178
Remarks: We report the classification of SN2021bxu as a 1993J-like Type IIb supernova in ESO 478 - G 006 (z = 0.017786, DM = 34.06). Classification with DASH (Muthukrishna et al. 2019, ApJ, 885, 85) suggests that SN 2021bxu is a Type IIb between -18 and -14 days with >99.9% probability. SN 2021bxu shows spectroscopic similarities to spectra SN 1993J at -16.7 days and SN 2011fu at -14.0 days, suggesting that the supernova is still in the shock cooling phase. Further follow-up is encouraged.
