TNS Classification Report No. 9283 [ 2021TNSCR1071....1P ]

Daniel Perley (LJMU) report/s a classification of object: SN 2021gpw
Type: SN IInRedshift: 0.075
Remarks: Spectrum is featureless except for a narrow+intermediate width line at the location of redshifted H-alpha emission. (H-beta, probably attributable to the host, is also seen.) Based on this, and the high luminosity and slow evolution, the probable classification is SN IIn. The SPRAT spectrum does not separately resolve the H-alpha and NII lines, and a higher-resolution spectrum to confirm that the profile of H-alpha is not due to a blend of these features would still be useful.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2021-04-04 23:32:01
