Kotak (Turku), R. Bruch, A. Gal-Yam (Weizmann), C. Lemon (Lausanne), S. Blondin (CNRS, LAM) report/s a classification of object: SN 2021jom

Type: SN II
Redshift: 0.0372

Remarks: The spectrum is characterized by a blue continuum with P-Cygni features of H and He superimposed, indicative of a young Type II supernova. GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, 2008A&A...488..383H) finds a convincing match with SN 1999em at 6 days after the explosion. The estimated phase is consistent with the ZTF light curve. We adopted the redshift of the host as the supernova redshift.

The following Classification spectrum was provided:

Obsdate: 2021-04-18 05:09:44
Instrument: FORS2
Telescope: The Very Large Telescope - UT1

Remarks: Quick-reduction spectrum, telluric corrected
