Mi Zhang, Xing Gao (Xingming Observatory) report/s the discovery of a new astronomical transient.
IAU Designation: AT 2021rno
Discoverer internal name: PSP21B
Coordinates (J2000): RA = 00:42:38.070 (10.658625) DEC = +41:08:42.30 (41.145083)
Discovery date: 2021-07-02 18:11:15.000 (JD=2459398.2578125)
Potential host galaxy: M31
Remarks: Mi Zhang, Xing Gao (Xingming Observatory), report the discovery of a possible nova (mag approximately 17.5 CV) on several 30-s survey image (limiting mag about 19.0) taken by Xing Gao at Xingming Observatory #2 (N89) around Jul. 02.75781 UTC using a unfiltered CCD (0.5-m f/4 reflector). The transient approximately located at R.A.=00h42m38.07s +41d08’42”.3 (equinox 2000.0). Which is about 70.5″ west and 446.2″ south of the center of the NGC224(M31). Nothing is visible at this position on archival images taken on Jun. 28.83559 (limiting mag 19.0) . Possible the recurrent nova M31 1923-12c (=2012-01b). Images can be found at: http://xjltp.china-vo.org/psp21b.html
