Global SN Project

Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find best fits to SNe Ia near maximum light. The supernova is closest to SDSS J214857.26-090415.8. The best-fit redshift from snid is 0.083, which is what we adopt. Assuming this redshift we measure a Si II 6355 velocity of approximately 12,000 km/s. Adopting the distance modulus computed from this redshift (37.9), the r-band absolute magnitude of the object roughly coeval with the spectrum is -19.7 (apparent magnitude 18.3, from ZTF). This absolute magnitude and velocity is consistent with an SN Ia at maximum light.
