Orapeleng Mogawana (UCT/SAAO), Paul Groot (Radboud/UCT/SAAO), Simon de Wet (UCT/SAAO) report/s a classification of object: SN 2023dpj
Type: SN IIRedshift: 0.01369
Remarks: Analysing the spectrum using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007) shows a good match with SN2004et, a type IIP supernova observed 10 days post maximum brightness. The reported redshift is adopted from the associated host galaxy.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2023-03-28 23:20:58
Instrument: Other
Telescope: Other
Remarks: Spectrum was obtained using the Cassegrain Spectrograph (SpUpNIC) on the SAAO's 74-inch (1.9-m) telescope using a grating of 7 and a grating angle of 16.2 with an average spectral resolution of 300.
