18613 2024-11-10 10:24:09 Panos Charalampopoulos Panos Charalampopoulos None SN Ia 0.0945 1 1 We report the classification of AT2024aanu as a Ia supernova based on an optical spectrum obtained with the Nordic Optical Telescope on 2024-11-09 (i.e., MJD 60623.81). The transient is coincident with the nucleus of the host galaxy. Comparison with a library of supernovae spectra using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), suggests AT2024aanu is a pre-peak SN Ia. At a redshift of z~0.0945, we can identify potential CaII H&K and NaID. At that redshift, the r-band absolute magnitude is Mr ~ -19.5. 2024TNSCR4427....1C
