TNS Astronomical Transient Report No. 234994 [ 2024TNSTR4755....1R ]
Date Received (UTC): 2024-12-04 11:43:32
Date made public:
Sender: Andrea Reguitti
Reporting Group: Padova-Asiago Discovery Data Source: GRAWITA
Andrea Reguitti (INAF-OABr / INAF-OAPd), Paolo D'Avanzo (INAF-OABr) on behalf of the GRAWITA collaboration report/s the discovery of a new astronomical transient.
IAU Designation: AT 2024adip
Coordinates (J2000): RA = 23:01:50.460 (345.46025) DEC = +38:41:39.80 (38.694389)
Discovery date: 2024-11-02 20:45:00.000 (JD=2460617.3645833)
Host redshift: 0.0815
Remarks: Transient found during the search for electromagnetic counterparts of the GW event S241102br, produced by the coalescence of 2 black holes. The transient is located within the 50% localization area and the redshift of the host galaxy is consistent with the distance reported for S241102br.
