Redshift: 0.0103

Remarks: On behalf of the NUTS2 collaboration, we report the optical classification spectrum of SN 2024agfq in Arp 299. The SN is notably reddened by host galaxy extinction and the spectrum reveals the Ca II NIR triplet and Halpha lines. We classify the event as a likely old Type IIn SN based on comparisons with template supernova spectra using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).
