Spyromilio (ESO) adH0cc SN Ia 0.0653 1 adH0cc The classification spectrum, obtained on the night of 2024 October 4 with the ESO Very Large Telescope UT1, the FORS2 spectrograph, and grism 300V shows typical features of a Type Ia supernova a few days after maximum light. Si II 6355 is very prominent and blueshifted by about 11400 km/s (adopting the known redshift of the host galaxy z = 0.0653). The relatively red continuum and a narrow Na D line at the redshift of the host suggest non-negligible reddening. GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, 2008A&A...488..383H) finds an excellent match with a spectrum of SN 2002er at +4.8d. SN 2024wrc is already the third Type Ia supernova in the same galaxy in recent years, after SN 2018hlp and SN 2023woq. This makes the system an interesting test case for SN Ia standardisation procedures and distance estimates. 2024TNSCR3870....1T
