Panos Charalampopoulos report/s a classification of object: TDE 2025abqg

Remarks: We report the tentative classification of AT2025abqg as a potential Tidal Disruption Event (TDE) based on an optical spectrum obtained with the Nordic Optical Telescope on 2025-10-30 (i.e., MJD 60978.99). At a redshift of 0.0772, we robustly identify a plethora of galaxy lines including CaII H&K and NaI D, as well as narrow emission lines of [OIII], [NII] and Halpha. We detect broad Halpha, and a blend of potentially broad Hbeta and HeII 4686. Comparison with a library of transient spectra using NGSF (AstroNote 2022-191, Howell et al. 2005 2005ApJ...634.1190H) and after masking the galaxy lines, does not return a robust match with a single transient class (including TDEs and SNe II). However, the best match seems to be with a TDE (see attached image). Based on the broad lines, the latest g-r ZTF colour (-0.36 in the last epoch corrected for MW extinction) and the seemingly constant colour evolution, we tentatively classify the transient as a TDE. At that redshift, and correcting for the MW extinction, the curreqnt absolute g-band magnitude is Mg ~ -18.9.
