20978 2025-05-05 08:29:15 Panos Charalampopoulos Panos Charalampopoulos (UTU) None SN Ia 0.056 1 We report the classification of AT2025izo as a Ia supernova based on an optical spectrum obtained with the Nordic Optical Telescope on 2025-05-04 (i.e., MJD 60800.11). The transient is coincident with the nucleus of the host galaxy. Comparison with a library of supernovae spectra using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), suggests AT2025izo is an around peak SN Ia at a redshift of z~0.056. We note that there is significant MW extinction (Av=0.535) making the ~ current absolute magnitude at that redshift be Mg = -19.2 (with an intrinsic g-r colour of ~ -0.25). 2025TNSCR1680....1C
