80372020-11-20 00:08:13jburkeJamison Burke, Daichi Hiramatsu, D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Estefania Padilla Gonzalez, Craig PellegrinoGlobal SN ProjectSN Ia-91T-like0.0591Global SN ProjectUsing Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find best fits to 91T-like SNe Ia a few days to a week before maximum light, including SN 1998es 2 days before peak. The supernova is closest to WISEA J061639.41-212948.9, and we infer a redshift of approximately 0.059 based on the SNID fits. Adopting this redshift we measure a Si II 6355 velocity of approximately 11,000 km/s. Adopting the distance modulus computed from this redshift (37.1), the g-band absolute magnitude of the object roughly coeval with the spectrum is -18.9 (apparent magnitude 18.5 and rising, from ZTF). The absolute magnitude and Si II velocity are consistent with a 91T-like SN Ia before maximum light.2020TNSCR3514....1B
