Moira Andrews (UCSB/LCO), Joseph Farah, Kathryn Wynn, Azalee Bosteroem (U. Arizona / LSSTC Catalyst Fellow), D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully report/s a classification of object: SN 2025rbs

Type: SN Ia
Redshift: 0.002722

Remarks: We report the classification of SN 2025rbs as SN Ia. The spectrum shows a best match to SN Ia-norm SN 2002bo 12 days before peak from SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024). The SN is located in a region of high extinction, with the Si velocity (~15000 km/s) and non detections are consistent with a SN Ia before peak. The object redshift is acquired from the nearby host NGC 7331 (z = 0.002722, d = 14.72 Mpc; Freedman et al. 2001). This SN is located in the same galaxy as Type Ib SN 2014C. Additional follow-up is encouraged.
