We report radio observations of the Type Icn SN 2026obc (Astronote 2026-180) with NSF’s Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA; Project Code 26A-408, PI: Wiston). We observed SN 2026obc with the VLA on 2026 June 5 beginning on-source at 17:59 UTC (~5 days since discovery) at X-band (8-12 GHz) with the array in A-configuration for a duration of approximately 32 minutes. We find no evidence for statistically significant radio emission at the location of SN 2026obc with a preliminary 3x RMS upper limit of 15 uJy. This is consistent with either large densities that suppress the radio emission or low densities, producing faint radio emission.
Further observations are planned and will allow us to distinguish between these two scenarios.
We thank the entire VLA team for carrying out these observations.
