Griffin Hosseinzadeh, D. Andrew Howell, Iair Arcavi, Curtis McCully, Stefano Valenti report/s a classification of object: SN 2016bkv
Type: SN IIRedshift: 0.002
Remarks: The spectrum shows a blue continuum with weak hydrogen Balmer features. Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 119), we find a good fit to the Type IIn SN 1998S 2 days before maximum light at the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.002; Mathewson & Ford 1996, ApJS, 107, 97, via NED).
