Type: SN IaRedshift: 0.036
Remarks: We report optical spectroscopy (range 370-910 nm) of four supernovae discovered by the All-Sky Automated Survey for Supernovae using the du Pont 2.5-m telescope (+ WFCCD) at Las Campanas Observatory on 2016 Aug. 1-2. We performed a cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024). The spectrum of ASASSN-16gm/AT2016cyh is consistent with a Type Ia at +36 days after maximum and with a redshift of z=0.036 (from SN features).
