Type: SN II
Remarks: Optical spectra (range 350-760nm) of the supernova candidate ASASSN-16go/AT2016cyk was obtained on UT 2016 July 4.2 with the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope (+ FAST). The spectrum of ASASSN-16go shows a blue continuum and a broad H-alpha line, indicating this is a young Type II SN.
