Emmanuel Conseil report/s the discovery of a new astronomical transient.

IAU Designation: AT 2016fbu
Coordinates (J2000): RA = 16:17:58.090 (244.492042) DEC = -60:42:41.00 (-60.711389)
Discovery date: 2016-08-16 01:33:06.000 (JD=2457616.5646528)

Potential host galaxy: 2MASX J16180412-6041419

Remarks: Emmanuel Conseil, on behalf of the TAROT Collaboration reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about 16.8 +/- 0.3) on 2016-08-16T01:33:06 using public images of the 0.25m robotic telescope TAROT La Silla observatory, Chile. SN is located at about R.A. = 16h17m58.09s, Decl. = -60o42'41.0" (equinox J2000.0), which is 193" W and 59" S from the nucleus of 2MASX J16180412-6041419 (16h18m04.13s -60o41'41.9"). The PSN is visible on two separate images and may also be hostless The PSN does not appear in an image taken 2016-05-18T04:15:19
