752 2017-01-27 22:10:03 Griffin Hosseinzadeh Griffin Hosseinzadeh, Stefano Valenti, Iair Arcavi, D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, David Sand, Leonardo Tartaglia LCOGT SN-KP SN II 0.003468 1 LCOGT SN-KP The spectrum has developed strong, broad H-alpha and calcium features at the redshift of the host galaxy (z=0.003; HIPASS Catalog via NED) on top of the existing red continuum, consistent with a highly reddened Type II supernova. Using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find good fits between our spectrum from 2016-12-22 (one month after discovery) and several Type II supernovae 2 to 6 weeks after maximum light. 2017TNSCR1514....1H

Provisional Classification for 2016ija

Please consider this classification provisional. The spectrum was taken at high airmass and the classification is likely to be superseded when spectra obtained at lower airmass are classified.
