Wiggins, Tooele, UT, USA, reports his discovery of a possible supernova (mag about 12.8) on an unfiltered CCD frame taken 2017 May 14.2383 UT using a 0.35-m f/5.5 reflector near Erda, UT, USA. The new object is located at R.A. 20h34m44.24s, Decl. +60°11’35.9” (equinox 2000.0), about 153” NW of the center of NGC 6946. The discovery image was posted temporarily at URL Wiggins notes that nothing was visible at this position on an image taken on May 12.

Color-combined confirmation image of PSN 2017eaw in NGC 6946 obtained by D. Denisenko (SAI MSU) at 09:24-09:42 UT on 2017-05-14 remotely using iTelescope.Net 0.61-m f/6.5 T24 reflector in Auberry, CA. Sum of 3x60-sec exposures in RGB filters. Image scale is 1.25 arcsec per pixel, FOV cropped to 10'x10'. PSN position is 61" West and 143" North of NGC 6946 nucleus. Comparison of (3x60-sec) unfiltered T24 image on 09:20-09:23 UT with 1991 DSS Red plate is posted at
