This transient was first discovered by Yannis Epitropoulos in the Legacy Survey Sky Viewer and discussed on the Galaxy Zoo website here:

. Regarding the host galaxy, no redshift is available. An alternative is the photoZ (KD-tree methode) value of 0.216 ± 0.0317.
