Group: Global SN Project
Daichi Hiramatsu, Iair Arcavi, Jamison Burke, Griffin Hosseinzadeh, D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Stefano Valenti report/s a classification of object: SN 2018byw
Type: SN IaRedshift: 0.029991
Remarks: Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find several good fits to normal Type Ia SNe around maximum light at the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.030; Jones et al. 2009, "The 6dF Galaxy Survey Data Release 3," via NED).
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2018-05-26 19:01:55
Instrument: FLOYDS-S
Telescope: Faulkes Telescope South
Details of the object and its spectra can be viewed here: https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2018byw
