Remarks: We obtained an optical low-resolution spectrum of supernovae candidates on UT 2018 July 15 with WFCCD mounted on the du Pont 2.5m telescope at Las Campanas Observatory. The spectrum of ASASSN-18on/AT2018ddy is that of a Type Ia-norm after maximum light. SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007) gives a best fit age of +9.2 days after maximum light and z=0.051 as the redshift, consistent with the host galaxy. The redshift measured from the host galaxy narrow H-alpha line is 0.0513.
