Ine Theunissen report/s the discovery of a new astronomical transient.
IAU Designation: AT 2018lov
Coordinates (J2000): RA = 13:07:02.016 (196.7584) DEC = +16:00:27.72 (16.0077)
Discovery date: 2018-03-16 07:04:46.000 (JD=2458193.7949769)
Potential host galaxy: IC 848
Host redshift: 0.053077
Remarks: The transient was first discussed by Ine Theunissen at the galaxy zoo website. See discussion at the talk forum: https://www.zooniverse.org/projects/zookeeper/galaxy-zoo/talk/1268/973734
Photometry
Discovery (first detection):
Discovery date: 2018-03-16 07:04:46.000
Flux: 21.3 ABMag
Filter: r-Sloan
Instrument: DECAM
Telescope: CTIO - 4-m Victor M. Blanco Telescope
Remarks: The Apparent Magnitude was calculated with APT, using SDSS J130705.02+155931.5 http://skyserver.sdss.org/dr15/en/tools/explore/Summary.aspx?ra=196.7707&dec=15.9921. An Absolute Magnitude of about -15.5 for the r-band and about -15.7 for the g-band was also calculated.
Last non-detection:
