Daichi Hiramatsu, Jamison Burke, Iair Arcavi, D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Stefano Valenti report/s a classification of object: SN 2019btp

Type: SN Ia
Redshift: 0.041856

Remarks: Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find good fits to several Type Ia SNe around maximum light at the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.041856; 1995ApJS..100...69F, via NED). At the redshift, the extinction-corrected absolute magnitude in B-band taken at UTC 2019-03-16 08:20:40 is -19.4, which is consistent with the Ia classification and its phase. We measure a Si II 6355 velocity of -11,000 km/s.
