Date Received (UTC): 2019-01-15 06:11:40 Sender: Dr. Michael Tucker
Group: SCAT
M A Tucker, A V Payne, A Do, M E Huber, B J Shappee (IfA UH Manoa) report/s a classification of object: AT 2019is
Type: CV
Remarks: Noisy blue spectrum with Halpha in emission, CaII H and Hbeta in absorption, and "filled core" HeI (narrow emission atop broad absorption). A coincident source in the PAnSTARRS stack object catalogue has g ~ 22.7, comparing this to the Lasair transient photometry indicates an outburst of > ~6.6 mag.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2019-01-13 17:10:53
Instrument: SNIFS
Telescope: UH 88inch
Remarks: Reduced with a summit quick-reduction pipeline, care should be taken before re-using this data for future studies.
