S. J. Smartt, M. Dobson (QUB), C. Vogl, A. Floers, S. Taubenberger, W. Hillebrandt, S. Suyu (MPA Garching), B. Leibundgut, J. Spyromilio (ESO), R. Kotak (Turku), R. Bruch, A. Gal-Yam (Weizmann) report/s a classification of object: SN 2019uxh
Type: SN IIRedshift: 0.0326
Remarks: An optical spectrum of SN 2019uxh, obtained on the night of 2019 November 20 with the ESO Very Large Telescope UT1 equipped with the FORS2 spectrograph and grism 300V, shows a blue continuum with prominent P-Cygni lines of hydrogen and helium superimposed. From the spectroscopic appearance and the photometric constraints, we estimate a phase about 2 weeks after explosion. Weak Na D absorption in the supernova rest frame suggests some extinction within the host galaxy.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2019-11-21 00:08:50
Instrument: FORS2
Telescope: The Very Large Telescope - UT1
Remarks: Quick reduction, including telluric corrections.
