Jamison Burke (LCO/UCSB), Yael Dgani (TAU), Iair Arcavi, Daichi Hiramatsu (LCO/UCSB), D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Estefania Padilla Gonzalez, Craig Pellegrino report/s a classification of object: SN 2020abqx

Type: SN Ib

Remarks: Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find best fits to SNe Ib. The supernova is closest to SDSS J115224.83+673251.6 (z = 0.063065, 2003SDSS1.C...0000:; value from NED). We identify the deep absorption at 6000 angstroms (observed) as He I 5876, and adopting the above redshift we measure a velocity of 12,000 km/s. This feature is significantly stronger than in typical SNe Ib, and the Ca II NIR triplet is significantly weaker. The SN is about three weeks after maximum, as seen in the ZTF lightcurve.
