Kotak (Turku), R. Bruch, A. Gal-Yam (Weizmann), C. Lemon (Lausanne) report/s a classification of object: SN 2020acod

Type: SN Ia
Redshift: 0.152

Remarks: The spectrum is similar to those of normal Type Ia supernovae about a week before B-band maximum. GELATO (Harutyunyan et al., 2008) found good matches with the spectra of SN2003kf at the epochs of -6 to -8 days. The redshift was determined based on the wavelengths of narrow emission lines of the host galaxy contaminating the object spectrum. Based on the redshift, the measured Si II line velocity is approximately 14600 km/s.

The following Classification spectrum was provided:

Obsdate: 2020-12-17 06:03:09
Instrument: FORS2
Telescope: The Very Large Telescope - UT1

Remarks: Quick-reduction spectrum, telluric corrected
