S. Prentice, K. Maguire, M. Magee, M. Deckers (TCD) report/s a classification of object: SN 2020nuv
Type: SN IRedshift: 0.085
Remarks: Uncertain redshift to about +- 0.01. Matches Type Ic SN 2004aw but also some Type Ia. At this redshift, the transient is brighter than -20 mag, which is borderline superluminous. The transient is also located well outside of any nearby galaxy, which is unusual for a Type Ibc. We suggest it may be some peculiar Type I.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2020-07-21 04:56:31
Instrument: SPRAT
Telescope: Liverpool Telescope
