Date Received (UTC): 2020-09-22 14:18:48 Sender: Andreas Floers
Group: adH0cc
A. Floers, S. Taubenberger, C. Vogl, G. Csoernyei, G. Cudmani, W. Hillebrandt, S. H. Suyu (MPA Garching), B. Leibundgut, J. Spyromilio (ESO), S. J. Smartt, M. Dobson (QUB), R. Kotak (Turku), R. Bruch, A. Gal-Yam (Weizmann), C. Lemon (Lausanne) report/s a classification of object: SN 2020tly
Type: SN IIRedshift: 0.058
Remarks: The blue, featureless spectrum together with the photometric information from ZTF suggests this to be a young Type II SN. The phase has been estimated from the light curve. The redshift has been measured from narrow Halpha emission of the host galaxy.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2020-09-22 05:05:51
Instrument: FORS2
Telescope: The Very Large Telescope - UT1
Remarks: Quick-reduction spectrum, telluric correction applied.
