Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Estefania Padilla Gonzalez, Craig Pellegrino Global SN Project SN Ia 0.01463 1 Global SN Project Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find best fits to young SNe Ia, including SN 2005cf 9 days before peak. The supernova is closest to ESO 317- G 006 (z = 0.014630, DM = 33.6; 1996ApJS..107...97M and 2013AJ....146...86T; values from NED). Adopting this redshift we measure speeds of approximately 13000 km/s for the Si II 6355 line, and 23000 km/s for the Ca II NIR triplet. The discovery magnitude reported by ATLAS, from observations taken 25 hours before this spectrum, is 17.1 (absolute magnitude -16.5). The high speeds and low absolute magnitude corroborate the classification as a young object. Further followup is encouraged. 2021TNSCR.328....1B
